Institute of Health Sciences pioneered Professional Manpower Development
in Odisha giving a fillip to the acute shortage of Professionals for
taking care of persons with Disability since 1999. Since then, the
Institute has come a long way becoming the only “Referral Hospital’
recognized by Govt. of Odisha in its Gazette. Institute of Health
Sciences is registered under Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995 and is
the approved center of Rehabilitation Council of India for imparting
Rehabilitation education in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. It
is affiliated to Utkal University offering BASLP and BPT degree courses
to cater to the need of trained rehabilitation professionals. Institute
of Health Sciences is aiming to offer other academic programs in the
medical and rehabilitation sciences in future.
